Then These Men Opened Their Mouth

Acts 2:2-4
2 And suddenly there came from heaven a sound like a mighty rushing wind, and it filled the entire house where they were sitting. 3 And divided tongues as of fire appeared to them and rested on each one of them. 4 And they were all filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak in other tongues as the Spirit gave them utterance.

There  are so many people in the street it is hard not to bump into someone. The noise and clammer of the crowd is loud, yet there rises above the usual coming and going a different sound.
I turn toward the commotion in time to see the most astounding thing. Out of nowhere, fire appears out of the sky. It reaches down to find a group of men and I wonder if they have met their end, so real in appearance are the flames. It happens so quickly and with such noise I am reminded of lightning striking the earth without warning, fierce and powerful. Then there is a sudden and profound silence. Everyone is still,  not knowing what would come next.

Then these men opened their mouth.
