John 1:1 AMP

1 IN THE beginning [before all time] was the Word ( Christ), and the Word was with God, and the Word was God Himself.

This translation captures a nuance from the original Greek, which orders the last part of the verse as saying, "and God was the Word". This strengthens the idea that Christ(The Word) is indeed God. Word order is significant in Greek and is used by the author to add emphasis. It is unlikely John made a casual choice here.
