Genesis 3:19 HCSB
19 You will eat bread by the sweat of your brow
until you return to the ground,
since you were taken from it.
For you are dust,
and you will return to dust.”
Adam is told he must earn his own bread now. He must work painfully to eat and live. His disobedience separated him from the bread of God.
Jesus comes to offer the bread of life, manna from heaven. We can rise out of the dust, out of the mirey clay and stand on the Rock that is Christ.
