15 Then the Lord replied to him, “In that case, whoever kills Cain will suffer vengeance seven times over.” And He placed a mark on Cain so that whoever found him would not kill him.
Could this be a foreshadow of the mark of the beast, the way of Cain?
He knew of the one God, but was an unrepentant murderer. He left the presence of the Lord to dwell in the East.
Lamech, a descendent, expressed the same vengeful, violent heart. At that time people began to call on the name of the Lord. How does He answer? What is acceptable to the Lord?
Cain killed his brother, whose worship was acceptable. His only sorrow seemed to be that his punishment was too much to him.
