While We Were Yet


Romans 5:7-8 ESV
7 For one will hardly die for a righteous man; though perhaps for the good man someone would dare even to die. 8 But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.

Interesting that Paul distinguishes between a good man and a righteous man. 
God did not require us to be either one to sacrifice Himself on our behalf.
I, for one, am grateful. I meet that requirement.
