Matthew 16:4 NASB
4 An evil and adulterous generation seeks after a sign; and a sign will not be given it, except the sign of Jonah.” And He left them and went away.
Jesus spoke these words to a people of a particular time and place, but there is a timelessness and universal application here as well. God has raised His Son that we might believe.
Jesus went back to the Father, giving us time to think about it.
