Until Christ Is Formed In You - Galations 4:18-19

Galatians 4:18-19 ESV
It is always good to be made much of for a good purpose, and not only when I am present with you, my little children, for whom I am again in the anguish of childbirth until Christ is formed in you!

A baby begins existence and progressively takes form in it's mother's womb. From the seed of man another man is conceived, receiving input from the father and mother. The child becomes a unique individual from the union of the two.

When we receive the seed of the word, we become a vessel for a new creature. Like Mary, we begin carrying and nurturing a child of God within our being. We become more than a human being as we begin to manifest the attributes of sons of God. We become a unique expression of the divine, even as we become part of the one.

Christ begins to take shape within as the Holy Spirit dwells with our spirit. The holy fire of God begins to warm and ignite our spirits with the light from the Father of lights. We are refined by the heat from the presence of the Lord.

Paul speaks of his own anguish as he shares in the childbirth of Christ in the lives of these new believers. In a sense, he is a father to them for he brought the seed of the word into their world.

The childbirth will find completion in the fullness of God's time. We will be like the Lord.
