Genesis 2:7-9
then the Lord God formed the man of dust from the ground and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life, and the man became a living creature. And the Lord God planted a garden in Eden, in the east, and there he put the man whom he had formed. And out of the ground the Lord God made to spring up every tree that is pleasant to the sight and good for food. The tree of life was in the midst of the garden, and the tree of the knowledge of good and evil.
We have returned to the garden, for the kingdom of God is within us. He is with us. He places us there, formed out of the earth, breathes the breath of life into our nostrils, and transfers us into the garden of His presence. The Spirit is given. He abides in us and we abide in Him. Believing gets us there. Believing keeps us there.
In Genesis the garden is outside the man and woman. In the New Testament the garden is on the inside. The intent of the law is written on our hearts. The word is within us.
When we become children of God, all things become permissible to us. The same was true of Adam and Eve. The garden was theirs except for the one forbidden fruit. That fruit symbolized disbelieving God.
The snake still slithers upon the earth. He still lays doubt and temptation before us as we journey in the wilderness of this world. Choosing God has always been a choice.
The tree of life is within reach for those in the kingdom. Yeshua promises this for all who persevere in faith.
