He Rebuked Peter - Mark 8:33

Mark 8:33 ESV

But turning and seeing his disciples, he rebuked Peter and said, “Get behind me, Satan! For you are not setting your mind on the things of God, but on the things of man.”

Jesus turns His back to Peter, calling him Satan in front of the other disciples. This is a lesson for all of us. Putting our will before the will of God is the essence of rebellion and sin. This nature is our world to be conquered and is tightly wound in the flesh of these mortal bodies. It is with the help and power of Jesus we can prevail and become more than conquerors.

We all have a little devil inside the earth of our bodies that calls to us, mouthing the words of Satan who strives to kill every soul. The things of man is the Satan within us all.

We must be reborn to disentangle with the flesh of our fathers, trading our life for the Spirit life of our Heavenly Father. Only one born from above can rebuke Satan. Leave the clay of our earth behind. Turn away. If you have Jesus, you have the power.
