Psalms 90:4 ESV
For a thousand years in your sight
are but as yesterday when it is past,
or as a watch in the night.
The Hebrew word for watch seems to imply more than a simple passage of time. It may speak of an observation and adherence to the commandments of The Lord. Blessed are those who wait for His return.
It seems we are waiting a long time in the night, in the valley of the shadow of death, for the return of The Lord. It seems long right now, but this will be forgotten once the morning star rises to bring an end to the night. Our trials will seem as yesterday when we view eternity stretched out before us.
