From Jerusalem - Isaiah 2:3-4

Isaiah 2:3-4 ESV

and many peoples shall come, and say:

“Come, let us go up to the mountain of the Lord,

to the house of the God of Jacob,

that he may teach us his ways

and that we may walk in his paths.”

For out of Zion shall go the law,

and the word of the Lord from Jerusalem.

He shall judge between the nations,

and shall decide disputes for many peoples;

and they shall beat their swords into plowshares,

and their spears into pruning hooks;

nation shall not lift up sword against nation,

neither shall they learn war anymore.

The word of the Lord is the Prince of Peace. The Hebrew word for Jerusalem means "teaching of peace." From Jerusalem the light of the Lord goes out into the world. This is the city chosen by God as His city, where His light and peace will reside.

This is why Jerusalem is a cup of trembling and a burden for the nations, for the prince of darkness opposes the light of the Lord. The world lies under the power of the prince of darkness and therefore the world surrounds this city and the people of the land, threatening their very existence with an ongoing campaign of abuse and warfare to eliminate the people of God.

God will prevail and HIS peace will descend on this city and into the world.
