Their Word - John 17:20-23

John 17:20-23 ESV

“I do not ask for these only, but also for those who will believe in me through their word, that they may all be one, just as you, Father, are in me, and I in you, that they also may be in us, so that the world may believe that you have sent me. The glory that you have given me I have given to them, that they may be one even as we are one, I in them and you in me, that they may become perfectly one, so that the world may know that you sent me and loved them even as you loved me.

The word is the thread that links the purpose of God with its fulfillment.

Creation comes through the word and the word becomes flesh. It is through the Spirit that the Son is given. It is through the Spirit that the Son is raised. It is through the Spirit that many sons and daughters are raised into the body of Christ. The word has gone forth and will not return void and unfulfilled.

The word and God are one, Father and Son. The Spirit gives witness to the truth, which is the word of God. We make the word our own.

We have received the glory of the Father and have become beloved as sons and daughters of the Father. We are perfectly and completely one with Him, He in us and we in Him.
