Strive - Luke 13:24-27

Luke 13:24-27 ESV

“Strive to enter through the narrow door. For many, I tell you, will seek to enter and will not be able. When once the master of the house has risen and shut the door, and you begin to stand outside and to knock at the door, saying, ‘Lord, open to us,’ then he will answer you, I do not know where you come from.’ Then you will begin to say, We ate and drank in your presence, and you taught in our streets.’ But he will say, ‘I tell you, I do not know where you come from. Depart from me, all you workers of evil!’

It is possible to know of God, yet not know Him or be known by Him. The word strive reminds us that we must contend for the faith and walk, or live, as children of light in our journey to the door at journeys end.

Our sin is forgiven, yet we are to be faithful as He is faithful. If we walk with Him, He will know us. If we don't walk with Him, He will not know where we came from.

If we strive to seek Him, we will find Him. If we only seek the door, we will never find it. He is the door and the way. He will help us, He already has, but it's our journey. He will do it if we will go down it. He is faithful.
