Coming Into The World - John 1:9-13

John 1:9-13 ESV

The true light, which gives light to everyone, was coming into the world.

He was in the world, and the world was made through him, yet the world did not know him.

He came to his own, and his own people did not receive him.

But to all who did receive him, who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God,

who were born, not of blood nor of the will of the flesh nor of the will of man, but of God.

The world did not know Him. Israel was to have made Him known, but it did not receive Jesus as the Messiah. They should have prepared the way of the Holy One and made the world ready for the true light. They were not ready.

There were some who did believe then and some that believe now. They are reborn as children of God, born of God.

Israel will receive Christ when He returns and they will complete their mission of taking Christ to the world. After the sealing of the twelve tribes in Revelation, a great multitude without number will appear, coming out of the great tribulation.
