Go And Wash

John 9:6-7 (New International Version)

6Having said this, he spit on the ground, made some mud with the saliva, and put it on the man's eyes. 7"Go," he told him, "wash in the Pool of Siloam" (this word means Sent). So the man went and washed, and came home seeing.

Jesus makes us aware of the mud in our eyes, as depicted in this story of healing. When He mixes the water of Truth from His mouth with our earthly being, we become aware of the resulting mud. We become aware of our need.

Jesus said go and wash. After the man did so, he came home seeing.

Jesus could have healed him immediately, but He did not. He could have immediately forgiven and healed everyone that has or will ever exist, but He did not. What He does do is tell the man to go and wash. We wash in Him. The command applies to us as well.
