Before Their Very Eyes

John 9:13-15 (NIV)

13They brought to the Pharisees the man who had been blind. 14Now the day on which Jesus had made the mud and opened the man's eyes was a Sabbath. 15Therefore the Pharisees also asked him how he had received his sight. "He put mud on my eyes," the man replied, "and I washed, and now I see."

The man did not know or say how the miracle was accomplished, but he was able to tell what happened from an earthly standpoint. The message from heaven was contained in the healing, the gospel was spoken, and the mystery revealed by the action.

The Pharisees were focused on the Sabbath, but could not see the true Sabbath unfolding before their very eyes.
