Galatians 3:7-9 ESV
Know then that it is those of faith who are the sons of Abraham. And the Scripture, foreseeing that God would justify the Gentiles by faith, preached the gospel beforehand to Abraham, saying, “In you shall all the nations be blessed.” So then, those who are of faith are blessed along with Abraham, the man of faith.
In a sense, Abraham had two sons, or lines of descendants. One was earthly in nature and will find their inheritance in the promised land as prescribed in the original covenant with Abraham. This is the son the Lord brought out of Egypt.
The second son is the body of Christ. The older son will serve the younger. The younger son will receive the blessing from the Father and will receive the double portion as His due. This is the son the Lord is bringing out of the world.
What has been done, is being done. The Old Testament speaks to us in word and deed.
