Acts 9:22 ESV
But Saul increased all the more in strength, and confounded the Jews who lived in Damascus by proving that Jesus was the Christ.
The Greek word translated as “confounded” literally means to pour into, or with something else. One might say the more he grew in the strength of the Holy Spirit, the more the living water of Christ would flow through Paul and into the world.
The message of Christ continues to confound the world. The darkness cannot comprehend the light. A person has to draw near to the light to begin to see what it is about, as did Moses turn aside to behold the burning bush. God will speak at that point of meeting. It is holy ground.
