Became Flesh - John 1:12-14

John 1:12-14 ESV

But to all who did receive him, who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God, who were born, not of blood nor of the will of the flesh nor of the will of man, but of God.

And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us, and we have seen his glory, glory as of the only Son from the Father, full of grace and truth.

Jesus became flesh, born of God through the Holy Spirit. We who are born in the flesh can follow the way of Jesus to become children of God. The life we receive does not reside in the flesh and blood of man, but is of the life of God which is Spirit.

The Spirit can overshadow us as He did Mary and begin a life within each person to produce a son of God who will one day rise from the grave and ascend to the Father.

The word is made manifest in the flesh of each one who receives the word. He dwells among us for He is in us. We have seen His grace and truth, and for that reason we place our faith in Him.
