This Mountain - Mark 11:20-25

Mark 11:20-25 ESV

As they passed by in the morning, they saw the fig tree withered away to its roots. And Peter remembered and said to him, “Rabbi, look! The fig tree that you cursed has withered.” And Jesus answered them, “Have faith in God. Truly, I say to you, whoever says to this mountain, Be taken up and thrown into the sea,’ and does not doubt in his heart, but believes that what he says will come to pass, it will be done for him. Therefore I tell you, whatever you ask in prayer, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours. And whenever you stand praying, forgive, if you have anything against anyone, so that your Father also who is in heaven may forgive you your trespasses.”

"This mountain" is the failed mountain of Israel. Israel is the fig tree that was not able to produce the fruit sought by God. Man is unable to do what God can do. The time was near when worship of God would not be on one mountain or another, but would happen in and through the Spirit.

A "mountaintop" experience with the Lord does not require travel to a distant sacred mountain. The mountain of the Lord has moved to us as the Holy Spirit comes and abides with each believer. We have the power to move that mountain of man by inviting Him into our lives. The mountain of the world will be thrown back into the sea and will sink beneath the waves.

If you have faith in Jesus, you have already moved that mountain.

True worship is a word away. It is because the word has come near. Enter the word and come see.
