1 Peter 2:11 ESV
Beloved, I urge you as sojourners and exiles to abstain from the passions of the flesh, which wage war against your soul.
Is all passion bad? No. Only those which wage war against your soul. Our soul has a passion for God, whether we've found it or not. The Passion of Christ was to give Himself completely for the soul of man. Our ultimate soul mate is Christ.
We are passionate beings because we were created by a passionate God. It is when the passions of the flesh interfere with the will of God, which is our true passion, that we run into trouble. That which is of the flesh will quickly fade, but the soul which is fed by the hand of God will be satisfied.
