Revelation 1:2-3 ESV
who bore witness to the word of God and to the testimony of Jesus Christ, even to all that he saw. Blessed is the one who reads aloud the words of this prophecy, and blessed are those who hear, and who keep what is written in it, for the time is near.
As John the Baptist bore witness to the first coming of the Lamb of God, this John will bear witness to the second coming of the Lord which will be quite different. This time it will be as King of Kings and Lord of Lords.
John's eyes are opened to this amazing vision and we are blessed in the sharing of this prophesy.
The last and final book of Scripture will end the story of God's interaction with man and creation, in which God creates and enters the material world and makes it His home.
From the beginning in Genesis to the final Revelation, God has woven the story of what was, is, and is to come.
The time is near.
