The Same Conflict - Philippians 1:29-30

Philippians 1:29-30 ESV
For it has been granted to you that for the sake of Christ you should not only believe in him but also suffer for his sake, engaged in the same conflict that you saw I had and now hear that I still have.

The conflict is between light and darkness, heaven and earth, and life and death. We have moved from one sphere to the other. The conflict is the opposition between the two and how it plays out in the world.

We are part of the conflict before we were saved, but we were at peace with the world and enemies of God. We experience the conflict from the other side when we believe God. We are at peace with God and enemies of the world. The world is turned right side up and the upside down fallen world can be seen in true perspective. The sword of the word cuts through our bindings and allows us to rise above the flood which issues from the mouth of the dragon and would cover the earth in death.
