Luke 2:21 ESV
And at the end of eight days, when he was circumcised, he was called Jesus, the name given by the angel before he was conceived in the womb.
Jesus is derived from the Greek word transliterated as Iesous which is derived from the Hebrew word transliterated as Joshua.
The meaning is the same. Jehovah Is Salvation.
This is the only name by which a man can be saved, for it is only God Who can save. We take His name and become children of light.
His name was known before He was conceived in the womb because He was known before the foundation of the world.
1 Peter 1:20-21
He was foreknown before the foundation of the world but was made manifest in the last times for the sake of you
who through him are believers in God, who raised him from the dead and gave him glory, so that your faith and hope are in God.
God's plan included the fall of man and includes the rise of man. He saw it all before it happened/happens and sees us as we become the crown of creation in our final form. He has rested from His work even as it continues to work itself out.
There are seven days in the creation story. The eighth day could represent the everlasting day of eternity. We will enter that day fully circumcised into the immortal being God intended all along. We will be in His exact image, for Jesus was in His exact image and we will be like Him.
