James 1:9-11 ESV
Let the lowly brother boast in his exaltation, and the rich in his humiliation, because like a flower of the grass he will pass away. For the sun rises with its scorching heat and withers the grass; its flower falls, and its beauty perishes. So also will the rich man fade away in the midst of his pursuits.
Both can boast in the Lord. The man of low position will be brought high. The man of high position will be brought low. Yet it is the same position, one that no man can reach alone. The kingdom of heaven.
We all face the heat of this life. It is the refining fire of the Lord which can prepare us to one day stand before Him. Some will be ready, some not.
Even the best of this world will fade in the light of His brightness. The worst will fade from memory. Nothing will be left save the glory of the Lord.
