By Nature - Ephesians 2:1-3

Ephesians 2:1-3 ESV
And you were dead in the trespasses and sins in which you once walked, following the course of this world, following the prince of the power of the air, the spirit that is now at work in the sons of disobedience— among whom we all once lived in the passions of our flesh, carrying out the desires of the body and the mind, and were by nature children of wrath, like the rest of mankind.

Adam was the first and last man that was Spiritually alive until Jesus entered our world. While Adam disobeyed God, Jesus never sinned. He was born from above as the second Adam, the second Son of God, the only begotten Son. The Son of Man, unlike the first Adam, was born of a woman. It was a woman through whom sin entered the world and through a woman that mercy and grace were born in the form of Jesus Christ. This was the first fruits of God's ultimate plan, a new creation. The separation in creation continues as His purpose is fulfilled. The new man has a new nature, which is the true image of God.
