The Glory - John 12:42-43

Jn 12:42-43 ESV
Nevertheless, many even of the authorities believed in him, but for fear of the Pharisees they did not confess it, so that they would not be put out of the synagogue; for they loved the glory that comes from man more than the glory that comes from God.

Believing and confessing are both involved in taking The Lord's name. Not confessing is taking His name in vain.

Placing the glory that comes from man above the glory that comes from God may keep one from being thrown out of a man made construction or institution, but it could result in being thrown out from the house of God.

If we deny Him before the world, He will deny us before the Father.

We are made for glory, but it is for the glory of God.
