Our Pain - Isaiah 53:3-4

Isaiah 53:3-4 NIV
He was despised and rejected by mankind, a man of suffering, and familiar with pain. Like one from whom people hide their faces he was despised, and we held him in low esteem. Surely he took up our pain and bore our suffering, yet we considered him punished by God, stricken by him, and afflicted.

He suffered with our pain, yet we despised Him. He was punished, stricken, and afflicted by God, but it was His bearing of what we should have received, our burden placed on his back.

We would turn our faces away from the unsavory image before us not knowing He struggled beneath the weight of our sin. He became our sin and it was ugly.

God is forsaken again by his own people, yet He loves us so.
