Heb 5:7-10 ESV
During the days of Jesus’ life on earth, he offered up prayers and petitions with fervent cries and tears to the one who could save him from death, and he was heard because of his reverent submission. Son though he was, he learned obedience from what he suffered and, once made perfect, he became the source of eternal salvation for all who obey him and was designated by God to be high priest in the order of Melchizedek.
In the Garden Adam did not learn obedience, but learned disobedience. This he chose of his own free will. The tree of the knowledge of good and evil stands before us as it stood before Adam. We stand in this fallen garden and face the choice of choosing God, or choosing evil. To obey or disobey. To live or lose life.
Unlike Adam, Jesus was placed in our wilderness and He obeyed His Father. The tree of life is now within our reach.
Obedience was the key then and is now. Salvation exists for all who obey Him.
