While My Glory Passes

Exodus 33:22-23 ESV
22 and while my glory passes by I will put you in a cleft of the rock, and I will cover you with my hand until I have passed by. 23 Then I will take away my hand, and you shall see my back, but my face shall not be seen.”

Seeing God's face means coming into His  presence. It is too much for us to behold in our mortal state. We would be consumed by His light. But He would send His Son, the light of the world, to enable us to walk in that light and see God. Jesus is that rock in which we are hidden, the hand that covers us with His righteousness.
