Restore To Me

Psalms 51:9-12 ESV

9 Hide your face from my sins, 

and blot out all my iniquities. 

10 Create in me a clean heart, O God, 

and renew a right spirit within me. 

11 Cast me not away from your presence, 

and take not your Holy Spirit from me. 

12 Restore to me the joy of your salvation, 

and uphold me with a willing spirit. 

There is nothing hidden from God. Only He can restore a heart, but He does so after that heart is turned and given to Him. David acknowledges it is the work of God's Holy Spirit that creates a heart and spirit acceptable to God. It is that same Spirit which guards and protects, that brings us into His presence and allows us to walk with Him.
