Luke 8:18 ESV
18 Take care then how you hear, for to the one who has, more will be given, and from the one who has not, even what he thinks that he has will be taken away.”
How we hear is what we do with the word. Just thinking about it, or talking about it is not enough. It is taking it to heart and living from that reality that is meant by one having the word, a hearer of the word.
More is given, for the word is living and grows in the receptive heart, taking root to receive the riches of the Father.
Take care. The measure you use will be given to you. This is what is meant by you working out your own salvation with reverence and trembling.
