Our Hand In His

Psalms 37:23-24 (NIV)
23 If the LORD delights in a man's way, he makes his steps firm;
24 though he stumble, he will not fall, for the LORD upholds him with his hand.

Psalms 37:23-24 (NKJV)
23 The steps of a good man are ordered by the Lord, And He delights in his way.
24 Though he fall, he shall not be utterly cast down; For the Lord upholds him with His hand.

Isaiah 41:13 (NIV)
13 For I am the LORD, your God, who takes hold of your right hand and says to you, Do not fear; I will help you.

What a promise we have from God! If we walk with Him, He is not only with us but He holds our hand on the journey. If we stumble, He keeps us upright. If we stagger from an unexpected blow, the strength of His hand becomes our strength and we do not completely fall.

How do we become that “good man” whose steps are “ordered by the Lord”? We do this by seeking Him. Time in His Word points our spirit to God. As we delight in His Word, He delights in us as a Father catching His child as that child takes the first steps toward His open arms.

Fear not, I will help you, says the Lord.
