Holy Spirit For All

Acts 11:15-16 (NKJV)
15 And as I began to speak, the Holy Spirit fell upon them, as upon us at the beginning.
16 Then I remembered the word of the Lord, how He said, 'John indeed baptized with water, but you shall be baptized with the Holy Spirit.'

Peter has returned to Jerusalem and is telling the brethren about his experience in the house of Cornelius, a gentile. He relates that as he spoke the word the Holy Spirit moved. This is power of God working through one who is willing. The Greek word translated fell implies an embrace with affection. Remember when the Holy Spirit descended on Jesus when He was baptized?

The same Spirit that descended on Jesus, which fell upon the believers in Acts, comes to us today. The Spirit moves as we live at His direction, in the words we speak and the things we do. God’s Spirit settles on us and embraces us in the loving fellowship of the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. It is for everyone.

Spirit fall on us today
Let us feel Your embrace
The comfort of Your presence
Use us to draw others to the Father
