The Threshing Floor - 2 Chronicles 3:1

2 Chronicles 3:1 ESV 

Then Solomon began to build the house of the Lord in Jerusalem on Mount Moriah, where the Lord had appeared to David his father, at the place that David had appointed, on the threshing floor of Ornan the Jebusite.

The threshing floor was where the wheat was separated from the chaff. The house of the Lord is where the sheep are separated from the goats, and the wheat from the chaff. 

Today the threshing takes place over all the earth in each heart. 

Matthew 3:12

His winnowing fork is in his hand, and he will clear his threshing floor and gather his wheat into the barn, but the chaff he will burn with unquenchable fire.”
