Exodus 19:4 ESV
You yourselves have seen what I did to the Egyptians, and how I bore you on eagles' wings and brought you to myself.
The phrase “on eagles’ wings” implies an action of God and His providence. He brought the Israelites out of Egypt and to Himself. They would find God in the wilderness. He led the way. He has always been the way.
In the beginning He hovered over the darkness of the waters before His light would enter our world. One might see a connection between that hovering Spirit in Genesis and the eagles’ wings here in Exodus.
The freeing of the Israelites is only a chapter in the separation of light and darkness taking place in creation, of the revelation of the light.
