Matthew 13:38-39 ESV
The field is the world, and the good seed is the sons of the kingdom. The weeds are the sons of the evil one, and the enemy who sowed them is the devil. The harvest is the end of the age, and the reapers are angels.
The good seed is the word of God. That word is the light of the world. The light becomes our own as we become the seed of that which is to come. We wither and fade as we grow old in these mortal bodies, but the light within contains that seed of light and life which will rise from the ground into immortality.
Playing in the weeds may be fun for a little while, but it's easy to get lost and that's no place to be at the end of the age.
