Genesis 19:10-11 ESV
But the men reached out their hands and brought Lot into the house with them and shut the door. And they struck with blindness the men who were at the entrance of the house, both small and great, so that they wore themselves out groping for the door.
The Lord reaches out to make people His own and bring them into His house. He shuts the door of the kingdom of heaven. The wicked cannot enter. There is but one way in and Jesus is that door. Death has no part with life.
Like these men struck with blindness, the world cannot see the door. The earth dwellers grope for the way in, but deny the existence of the very door they seek.
The wicked will wear themselves out while the strength of the saints are renewed.
