John 13:34-35 ESV
A new commandment I give to you, that you love one another: just as I have loved you, you also are to love one another. By this all people will know that you are my disciples, if you have love for one another.”
It would be difficult to love in isolation. Love is a living thing between one and another. The thing that opens the door for love is choice. God so loved the world He chose to give His only Son that we might choose Him. This choosing enables a love that conquers the world and fulfills the image of God. It is the final work and purpose of creation.
No other characteristic or understanding of God is above the love of God. It is love that calls and love that answers. We are the chosen ones when we choose to love. This is the sign of God, for He is love. By this we shall know.
