T Work - Genesis 2:15

Genesis 2:15 ESV

The Lord God took the man and put him in the garden of Eden to work it and keep it.

Genesis 3:22-23
Then the Lord God said, “Behold, the man has become like one of us in knowing good and evil. Now, lest he reach out his hand and take also of the tree of life and eat, and live forever—” therefore the Lord God sent him out from the garden of Eden to work the ground from which he was taken.

We are created for work, to bear the fruit of the Lord. Adam was formed from the earth and placed in the Garden to work and keep it. His disobedience caused his return to the ground from which he came, and it is there his work would continue. This is where we all live and work, in the shadow of death.

Jesus restores us to the Garden state. We remain in the valley of the shadow of death but we have entered the light of the Lord and have become the light of the world.

We now can choose to obey Him and thus choose life. Our work becomes bearing the fruit of the Spirit. In this way we multiply and subdue the earth, our earth and world. We are able to overcome the world by becoming children of God.
