What Must We Do? - John 6:28-29

John 6:28-29 ESV

Then they said to him, “What must we do, to be doing the works of God?”
Jesus answered them, “This is the work of God, that you believe in him whom he has sent.”

Do not attempt to understand our freedom in Christ using the law thinking structure to come to grips with grace of God. Those tools are useless as we embrace the reality of what Christ has done. A different metric is required. The law of death has no part in the life of Jesus Christ.

Doing something for Christ has no merit in our salvation, or of being right with God. Both depend solely on the grace of God. The works of the law were fulfilled by Jesus. Placing our faith in the Son takes us into a righteousness beyond law and beyond works.

We move from the state of human BEing to BEloved. We move from our natural state to beloved sons of God, brothers and sisters of Christ. Our energy is not to be spent to become something or someone, but to be who we are. Find the freedom we have in Christ.

There is no better way to BE.
