2 Corinthians 4:18 ESV
as we look not to the things that are seen but to the things that are unseen. For the things that are seen are transient, but the things that are unseen are eternal.
Two realities are in view. One we see and experience through our natural senses. This reality has the same characteristic as our flesh. It is transient. But it does give us the opportunity to get exposure and contact with the unseen reality that exists outside the realm of man.
It is in the realm of God that we find life of a different sort. It is a life we can experience without the confirmation of the natural senses. Jesus told Thomas that blessed are those who believe without seeing.
What God reveals to our souls is beyond the sight of earthly eyes. It is a Spirit on spirit interaction that begins forevermore. Made in His image, we alone have a spirit capable of union with His Spirit. It is eternal.
That which is seen becomes a parable for the unseen, the eternal reality.
