Depart - Isaiah 52:11-12

Isaiah 52:11-12 ESV

Depart, depart, go out from there;
touch no unclean thing;
go out from the midst of her; purify yourselves,
you who bear the vessels of the Lord.

For you shall not go out in haste,
and you shall not go in flight,
for the Lord will go before you,
and the God of Israel will be your rear guard.

We can see this as prophesy as the Israelites left Egypt, showing us a sign of the exodus of believers to come. He went before them in a cloud and fire.

We have become the vessels of the Lord. The Holy Spirit brings the light of the Lord into the heart of the believer. The Lord has chosen to abide in these earthly tents to His glory and praise. He leads from within.

We depart this land of the world in response to His call. We recognize His voice and trust Him to lead us to green pasture and still waters.

We do not flee in haste in fear, but walk with the Lord. He goes before us and surrounds us with love and protection. He shows us the way, for He is the way.
