To Light - 2 Timothy 1:8-11

2 Timothy 1:8-11 ESV

Therefore do not be ashamed of the testimony about our Lord, nor of me his prisoner, but share in suffering for the gospel by the power of God,
who saved us and called us to a holy calling, not because of our works but because of his own purpose and grace, which he gave us in Christ Jesus before the ages began,
and which now has been manifested through the appearing of our Savior Christ Jesus, who abolished death and brought life and immortality to light through the gospel,
for which I was appointed a preacher and apostle and teacher,

From the beginning God purposed us to be like Christ Jesus. Those who answer the holy call are made holy, and this is accomplished by the one Who calls. It is a work He has done and is doing.

Jesus is with God, one with God and there He prepares a room for us. He will return to bring us into His house, our new and immortal bodies. Heaven and earth are joined in a new creation that is one.

Light is revealed in the gospel. The light of God shines in the brilliance of the bright and morning star which rises above the earth. We lift our eyes to the one light.
