Things That Are Unseen - 2 Corinthians 4:16-18

2 Corinthians 4:16-18 ESV

So we do not lose heart. Though our outer self is wasting away, our inner self is being renewed day by day.
For this light momentary affliction is preparing for us an eternal weight of glory beyond all comparison,
as we look not to the things that are seen but to the things that are unseen. For the things that are seen are transient, but the things that are unseen are eternal.

Our inner self is the eternal part of our present existence. This earthly body will fade and pass away, though it is the temporary vessel of the light of life of God. A new and wonderful body will become our new home. This is the room Jesus has gone to prepare for us. He is coming back to unite our earth and heaven.

The present afflictions we face and any burdens we carry serve to qualify and prepare us for a glorious life that even angels will look on with wonder.

Our spirit has joined with His Spirit in a communion that has no end. It is fed by a never ending supply of living water flowing from the throne of God our Father.

It is with Spirit eyes that we are able to see the unseen and to give witness to a reality beyond our comprehension.
