The Centurion Saw

Mark 15:39 ESV
39 And when the centurion, who stood facing him, saw that in this way he breathed his last, he said, “Truly this man was the Son of God!”

His breath left His nostrils. His lungs no longer drew in the air of creation. The Holy Spirit had departed. His life is given, the seed is planted.
This centurion had probably witnessed many crucifixions. There was something  more here than the normal brutality of man.
“Truly this man was the Son of God!”

ἐκπνέω * ekpneō * ek-pneh'-o * From G1537 and G4154; to expire: - give up the ghost.
