Matthew 3:16-17 (ESV Strong's)
16 And when Jesus was baptized, immediately he went up from the water, and behold, the heavens were opened to him, and he saw the Spirit of God descending like a dove and coming to rest on him; 17 and behold, a voice from heaven said, “This is my beloved Son, with whom I am well pleased.”
Jesus grew in the spirit of a man, strong and without sin, before receiving the Holy Spirit at His baptism. He opened the door to heaven and would provide the way to get there.
The Spirit of God brought Jesus into the world and His Spirit will bring us into the kingdom of heaven. He is the binding that joins heaven and earth into fellowship with the Lord. In the unity of the Spirit we are made one.
