Revelation 1:9 (ESV Strong's)
I, John, your brother and partner in the tribulation and the kingdom and the patient endurance that are in Jesus, was on the island called Patmos on account of the word of God and the testimony of Jesus.
John references three aspects of the life of those in the body of Christ. When the Holy Spirit descends on a person, they immediately find themselves in the wilderness of the earth that is revealed when they are no longer of this world. It is the same terrain, but we now walk as a new creation in Christ. Tribulation is inevitable when light encounters the darkness.
We find ourselves in a position where we ourselves are in the kingdom of heaven, yet still find our feet on the earth and housed in the mortal flesh of mankind. Endurance requires obedience to the word of God and obedience is learned by enduring in His word.
They both will bring us to the throne of Christ.
