Whoever Abides - John 15:5-6

John 15:5-6 ESV
" I am the vine; you are the branches. Whoever abides in me and I in him, he it is that bears much fruit, for apart from me you can do nothing. If anyone does not abide in me he is thrown away like a branch and withers; and the branches are gathered, thrown into the fire, and burned."

Abiding contains the idea of dwelling, remaining, and enduring. Abiding in Christ means obedience to Him, for in this way we show that we have received His love.

It is love that flows in the vine and causes the branches to thrive. We drink from the vine, partaking of the living water that flows from the throne of God. If we withdraw our lips from the cup, we are in danger of becoming fodder for the fire.

It is something we choose to do and must continue to do. Choose this day whom you will serve.
