Hebrews 2:14-15 NASB
" Therefore, since the children share in flesh and blood, He Himself likewise also partook of the same, that through death He might render powerless him who had the power of death, that is, the devil, and might free those who through fear of death were subject to slavery all their lives."
Revelation 20:1-3
" Satan Bound
Then I saw an angel coming down from heaven, holding the key of the abyss and a great chain in his hand. And he laid hold of the dragon, the serpent of old, who is the devil and Satan, and bound him for a thousand years; and he threw him into the abyss, and shut it and sealed it over him, so that he would not deceive the nations any longer, until the thousand years were completed; after these things he must be released for a short time."
Christ freed the captives bound to the power of death. In other words, He bound the power of the devil, He bound the devil with the power of the truth, the very power of God.
What Jesus opens no one can close and what He shuts no one can open. He has opened our eyes and the devil has lost his power to deceive those who believe.
This will for a long time from our perspective, but a thousand years is like a day to The Lord. Behold, He is coming quickly.
Today, if you hear His word, do not harden your heart. There might not be a tomorrow.
